I am me

This song right here....

I don't wanna be her
I just want to be little old me
Shouldn't have to think
Who am I suppose to be today
And what give you the right
To tell me who I should be
Who gave you that right

Cause I, I feel lovely
Just the way that I am
Yes I feel lovely
The way that I am

I know you want the best
Yeah only good things for me
But you have to realize
I can't be all these things you project on me
Cause I'm beautiful to me
Doesn't that mean a thing

I feel lovely
Just the way that I am
Yes I feel lovely
The way that I am

I need that to be enough for you
Need that to be enough for you
Cause it's enough for me
It's enough for me

Am I suppose to give up everything I am
Just to make you happy
I thought I was the one you
Always wanted me to be
It turns out I'm just little old me
I'm just little old me
And that's fine by me

Cause I, I am lovely
Just the way that I am
Oh yes I am,
Yes I am lovely
The way that I am
I am lovely lovely
I am lovely

...says it all about me.  How about you?

Dear Target, you always seem to surprise me with deals... and spending a shit ton of money that I wasn't going to spend

Guys, let's just talk about this whole Target store.
I am convinced there is some subliminal message that is within the music when you are there to make you spend way more than you originally thought of.

Yesterday we went in to get a few stuff for our trip.

  • Deodorant
  • Razors
  • Shampoo & conditioner
  • Gel
At the end, my bill was $125.  MFMAFJFJAFJKAFDAK ;.A DAFJDA JFKDJAF;OIEDA ;!!!!!!!!

I have no idea how that happened... but on the plus side, I walked out with a bathing suit.

I wanted to get one more bathing suit for our trip, but it's November in NJ so that means all the Christmas shit is out and summer clothes gone.  I was afraid I would have to go to a swimsuit store and pay over $100 for a bathing suit.  But lo and behold Target surprised the heck out of me.  As I was walking through I saw clearance and figured I'd check to see if they had shorts or tees.  And that's when the pot of gold was found at the end of the red Target rainbow.  In all its glory, a whole rack filled with bathing suits.  Some were full price but then some were on clearance.   So I frantically start searching through.  Now we all know how much bathing suit shopping sucks major balls and ass, especially when you are not a size 6 with an effin flat stomach.  But here I am searching and I found some options. I run into fitting room to quickly try them on.  AND GUYS I FOUND A FREAKING WINNER,  I know, I'm still amazed that I actually found a bathing suit that I....
  • Liked
  • and the best part, FIT MY BOOBS
I have big boobs and bathing suit makers tend to forget that us big busted woman need to have those baby squeezed in AND supported.  But I found one that supports them, doesn't make me spill out and also makes them look fabulous.

I paired it with a black bikini bottom, which was also on clearance.
Merona® Women's Tankini Swim Top -Black/White Print

Guys, this literally took me 15 minutes to find a bathing suit... why on earth it can't be like that all the time is beyond me.  But yesterday, I won... BIG TIME.

Except for the $125 bill at the end.... that is NOT winning.
How do you that Target, how?!?!?!?!

P.S. We leave tonight to Florida for our cruise vacation. YIIIIPPPPEEEEEEE!

The best memories are made on vacations

Guys, I just have today and tomorrow at work before I am officially on vacation.

I. Am. So. Excited.

We are big cruise people and the one we are taking now will be our fifth cruise!  To us, a cruise vacation is the best vacation ever. Lots of things to do on the boat, different places to visit, five star food to eat and relaxation all day and night long.  Doesn't get any better than that.

After work tomorrow I am going to home to get luggage and we then start our road trip to Florida with our two close friends.  Yes, road trip.  We are driving down to Ft. Lauderdale!  We didn't realize that being away for Thanksgiving meant that flying home would cost a gazillion dollars... from Florida.  There was no way we were able to justify paying a ridiculous amount of money when any other time, we could pay $200.  It was a much cheaper option for us to drive down with our two friends.  So, road trip it is.  This will be my first road trip that involves over 4 hours of driving. I'm excited but nervous since I know I am the one out of the group who can't drive for that long in a car.  4 hours is usually the max that I can do because it just becomes exhausting for me.  Between the four of us driving though, we should be in our hotel room by Friday night and relax before we leave on Saturday!!!!!

Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas, get ready because we are coming on Saturday to party hard!!!!

We are all the same

"Every heart has a story to tell
Some dreams have wings, some are torn at the seams
and just sit there on the shelf
If you were to walk in my shoes
You'd see we are all the same
So find the love inside yourself
Cause every heart has a story to tell "

- part of lyrics from Every Heart by Sarah Haze

This chorus of her song just really sunk deep in my heart.  It's so true.  We all are the same.  We are all going through our ups an downs.

But in the end, we all love.

The couple who forgets their 5 year wedding anniversary.. THAT WOULD BE US.

So you all may have seen my post on Saturday about hubs and I celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary.   Funny story behind that.  Now, I knew my anniversary was coming up but we have been so crazed with bestie's wedding that just passed and leaving for vacation this Thursday (thank goodness the sweet lord) that my mind is ALL OVER THE PLACE.  Hubs and I wake up Saturday morning and we are just chit chatting in bed, finally we get out of bed and start to get ready for the day.  We decided to head to Woodbury Outlets to get some shopping done.  Hubs is in the kitchen and I see a card we got in the mail from one of our fave restaurants showing us a discount we can use for our anniversary month.

BAM, it hits me that it's our anniversary and we both didn't realize it. I look at hubs and am like "OMG, it's our anniversary today.... Happy Anniversary babe!".  Needless to say we got a good chuckle out of it.

A lot of people asked me what we did.  We didn't do the fancy dinner, we didn't get dressed up.... we ended up picking up my niece and nephew to babysit them and we all went to shopping together.  I wouldn't have had it any other way.  We had a fun day with the kids then we also went to my parent's house after to pick up my mom and headed to the Apple store.  My mom needed a new laptop and she knew what she was going to get.  Hubs decided to get himself one too.  So my mom and hubs are proud owners of brand spanking new Macbook Air (mom) and Macbook Pro (hubs).  It was a good shopping day for the hubs.

Then my bestie sent me the info to check out her photos online from her wedding so last night I sat there and went through every single one.  Because I'm lame.  She hasn't even gotten through all of them!  Does this mean I have a problem? ANYWAYS, I realized that I partied hard at her wedding.  And also how much in love I am with my husband.

Just because we are 30 doesn't mean we forgot how to get down and dirty on the dance floor.  Yeah I said it.

I also like to drink and serenade the groom's sister.  Simply because she is awesome.

PS. My boobs... are big, but I love how fantastic they look.  Yes I went there too.
k, bye

Big Time Bloggers Gone Stale

We all think it.  Why did that "big time" blogger get big and lose the integrity of their blog.   There is nothing more I hate than when a blogger becomes "big" and all of a sudden and their blog goes to shits.  Seriously, why is it so hard for people to become "big" time bloggers but continue to be true to their blog?  Why do they conform to what they think we want?  There are so many blogs that I stopped reading because all of a sudden their blog blew up and bam, just like that they crank out shitty posts after shitty posts.  What's crazy is that you see it coming because there are tell tale signs.  Some of them include:

  • They tweet their sponsorship details every five minutes.  We all see your sponsorship tab and if we wanted to learn more, we are capable of clicking on it.  But lord almighty stop telling me every 5 mins that you have a discount code for this and first people to email get this.  You make yourself sound desperate.  Stop it.
  • Every other post is a sponsored post along with FB and Twitter updates.  It's cool to sponsor some posts.  Hey, I love getting free stuff too.  But if you are writing a sponsor post 3 times a week, you will lose followers.  We all know that you don't really like all the stuff you get.
  • They could be wearing a garbage bag as a shirt and everyone will LOVE it. Someone please try this so I can see if my point will be proven.
  • They only reply to certain comments. Yes you get a lot of comments, but I know some big time bloggers that still reply to my comment which is probably #76.  Even if it's a "thanks" that works.  So don't use the excuse that you get too many comments.  It's because of those comments you are where you are.
  • They write tutorials that 5000 other bloggers have done already.  There is a thing called Google.  People use it to figure out how to do stuff.  Please don't write a tutorial that other bloggers already have written.  What would be nice is to give the credit to the person who did write it.
  • They always seem to be in the middle of Twitter wars. I actually enjoy this sometimes because it's just so ridiculous how grown adults become middle school kids in a fight.  I will gladly grab my popcorn and see the entertainment unfold.
  • They no longer write brutally honest posts.  We started reading your blog because you were a real person.  Now as a "big" time blogger, you sound like a robot writing everything to be politically correct.  That's not what we want, we want YOU.
  • They sponsor link-ups and make people follow them to participate, but I am pretty sure they don't read every person's post who took the time to link up.  If you go through all the hoopla to create a link-up, then make the dam effort to visit every person's post who links up. It's rude if you don't.  And if you can't be bothered, then maybe you shouldn't be doing link-ups.
  • They have ads pop up while you are scrolling reading their post.  Um, that's annoying and not necessary.  Trust me, NO ONE is clicking on those ads. Aint nobody got time fo dat.

What do you hate most about those "big" time bloggers???

Signs You Are Not A Parent

Signs you are not a parent include...
  • You can make last minute plans
  • You can curse whenever you want
  • Your phone/tablet/computer is in one piece
  • You can enjoy a meal without any interruptions
  • You don't carry snacks in your purse
  • You don't trip over toys in your home
  • You can have a glass (or five) of wine without having to justify it.
  • You can have sex with the bedroom door unlocked
  • You can have sex ANYWHERE in your house
  • You don't need to by a SUV just to fit strollers and car seats
  • You can go on vacations to adult only hotels
  • You can watch TV shows at any time regardless of the violent/sexual nature
  • Your Netflix queue is filled with new releases and not kid TV shows
This list is just a part of what it is to not be a parent.  I am not here to say that parents lead a horrible life. I can't wait to be a mom.  That path in life is something that I pray to God is in my future.  But I also know that being married for 5 years, I have had the best time enjoying life with my husband as a family of 2.  We made the choice to not have kids right away.  It was OUR choice. Why some people think they can call us selfish is beyond me.  A woman did just that yesterday to me, but you know what, I tried to brush it off. Because ignorant people are just that, IGNORANT.

Cheers to those who chose to be parents and cheers to those who chose to wait.

And remember, you ALWAYS have a choice, so don't use that as an excuse.

Let's Get Real

Considering I just renewed my web address, I figured we can all celebrate!

It's crazy how a year ago I re-branded my blog to tailor more towards who I am.  I vowed this past year to become even more real on this blog because I know that some of you are sick of reading those blogs that show perfect lives with perfect photos and perfect family.

Well, there is nothing perfect about my life, so let's get real here:

  • I am literally sitting on the toilet typing out this blog post.  Not my fault blog inspiration hit me while my tummy decides to do rumble.  I like to call it multi-tasking.
  • I take a lot of selfies and am perfectly fine with it.  It makes me happy and in the end, that's all I care about.
  • My forehead is huge. My whole hand can cover my forehead.  I can't cover it up with bangs because I have curly hair and let's face it, no one wants to walk around looking like this:

  • I always want to punch the people in the face when they ask me the baby question.
  • I have no fashion sense and am OK with that.  At least I am not walking around looking like everyone else who is wearing the same fashion for the season.  Points for just being me!
Too Much Fashion
  • I cringe when I see little kids who are spoiled and the parents have no discipline.  You are creating an egotistical monster, do people not realize that?
kid karma sweet sixteen gif

Now I know some of you feel the same way about some of the points I listed above. Don't be shy.  What are some of the things that drive you crazy????

Bestie's Wedding Was Fantastic and Pics to Prove It!

I am in work grind mode catching up since I was out yesterday, but I couldn't help but share some pics from my best friend's wedding on Sunday.

She is so freaking beautiful!

The groom was so handsome!

And the bridal party was on point!

LOTS of liquor was involved!

Maid of Honor and I!

Hair and makeup came out fab!

The flowers were perfect!

I love her like she is my own family!

Hubs and I had a blast, clearly!

And to think that this Saturday, hubs and I will celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary!

Love is in the air people, and it FEELS AMAZING.

Hope your weekend was great!

P.S. I consumed lots of alcohol on Sunday, and woke up with no hangover on Monday. Guess when you hit 30 the tolerance is much better???  Ha, I'll take it!

P.S.S. Holy boobs.... strapless gowns have a way of REALLY accentuating the boobs. bawahahahaha

Just Because

Marriage isn't about one person, it's about the both of you.

Life is so beautiful, make sure you don't miss it.

Life is like a good black and white photo, there's black, there's white, and lots of shades in between.

Nov 7, 2013

Oh hey guys, remember me?  Yeah, this week kind of sucked ass for blogging as I was sick and of course had 50 million things to do.  And guess what, it just gets crazier these next few days.

  • We had a Red Bulls playoff soccer game last night, where we lost.  womp womp.   But I had so much  fun this season and can't wait till next season thanks to hubs who renewed our season holder tickets!!!  That man is so freaking awesome.
  • Bestie's wedding is TWO DAYS AWAY!!!!  We had the rehearsal dinner this past Sunday and I laughed so hard at the stories.  It was great and we had super yummy food!
  • Tonight is the rehearsal at church so I'm excited to see everyone now that it's crunch time!
  • Tomorrow I have to get my nails done and I am just praying the nail salon isn't crazed after work.
  • Saturday morning I am getting a hair cut to prep for the wedding on Sunday!
  • I have been sick and my voice isn't 100%, but maybe right now at 75%.  Just praying that by Sunday I am good to go to sing Ave Maria at her ceremony.
  • Also, freaking out about singing at ceremony. Eeeeeek!
  • Sunday is the big day!!!!  We have a start time of 7am for hair and makeup!
I am so happy for Raff and Tony and just so excited for them.  This wedding is going to be such a blast mainly because their bridal party is awesome.  ;)

I'm off to finish as much as I can at work and make sure everything is good to go since I won't be in on Monday.

Any plans for the weekend???

Nov 4, 2013

This is Not Happening!!!!!!!!

I feel like shit.

What's even worse about this situation is that bestie's wedding is next week!!!!  I'm sure I will feel fine by Sunday but I am more freaked out about my voice.  I am singing Ave Maria for the wedding and wanted to get in some extra practice time this week... nope, not happening.

Lots of rest for my voice and green tea with lemon to soothe vocal chords.

Of course shit like this happens right before her wedding.  And talk about a jam packed week...

  • Wednesday night: Red Bulls Playoff games (soccer for those won't aren't familiar)
  • Thursday night: Rehearsal at church with the bridal party
  • Friday night: Get nails done
  • Saturday: Get hair trimmed and straightened out in prep for Sunday's hairstyle along with getting the eyebrows done.
  • Sunday: 6am wake-up call!!!!  and WEDDING TIME!
I have only Monday and Tuesday to go home and rest up so I can be good to go starting Wed.

For my musician friends, any more tips on good warm ups and what to do for voice besides honey and vocal rest???

One of the Best Lessons Life Has Show Me

I came across this fun link up that A Happy Girl is hosting.

Let's try this out and see how long I last.

One of the best lessons life has shown me....

  • Enjoy both the good and bad times.  I know, it sounds weird to enjoy the bad times... but it is those times that shape you.  Along withe the good, they complete you.  Our world isn't perfect, so we must embrace those moments to ensure that we can always be the best we can be.
  • Giggle. A lot.  I am expert at this.  It's the world's best stress reliever.
  • Have faith in Him, and you'll be alright.
Because of these three things, life has been a roller coaster ride and I couldn't be happier about it.  This is my ride.

The Week That Went Slow and Fast at the Same Time

The other day I was watching the news while getting ready for work when this headline came on

I immediately thought about us bloggers and how stressed we may all be because I am pretty sure that we make up about 75% of wine consumption.  So, go out and stock up on your wine before they run out!

I had to take Sadie to the vet for a comprehensive checkup which including blood work and 3 vaccine booster shots.  Needless to say, she was not happy with me.  She wouldn't even look at me while we were there.

My bestie's wedding is next weekend and she asked me to sing Ave Maria at her wedding.  I agreed.... and now freaking out.  It's been a while since I have used my voice for singing so there is a lot of prep that I am doing.  This Sunday I will practice with the organist and we will see how it all goes.

One of the best things of Fall is cuddling on the couch with my snuggie.  I decided to make Sadie into a snuggie burrito... because I can. I die of cuteness.

It's Friday... and my brain is barely working so this is all I could muster up for a post. I promise I will make the next one better.  Promise.

Happy Friday bloggy peeps!
