Because Life Is Just Life Sometimes

Well, life sure is a bit tricky at times.  We all know that life isn't fair at times right? Well, duh.  But as I have learned down the lines, sometimes you have to take the good stuff and run with it in life.  It makes those bad unfair times more bearable to deal with.

For instance, my new hair color is a positive in my life because I LOVE it!

Tuesday was a not so great day for me.  As you all know, I am still job hunting.... yes, STILL.  It's no joke. It's hard to find a job in NJ. Nobody is hiring and if they are, they want entry level people to pay them minimum for experienced work.  That's not me.  Tuesday alone I applied to 28 jobs.  I started at about 7am since I couldn't sleep and ending around 2pm.  That's a LONG time to be on the computer. Applying to jobs isn't just sending in a resume anymore, it's sending your resume and filling out an online application that literally makes you re-write your dam resume which takes 45 minutes. No joke. It's not fun.  But it is what it is. The bad day just started with the pent up emotion of fifty million people asking me if I found a job yet.  I understand that they are just legit asking to see how I am doing.  I WANT a job. I SEARCH every god dam day for a job.  I am not sitting at home looking pretty and enjoying "vacation" as some retarded people like to call it.

But let's go back to positive...
Out of the 28 applications I did on Tuesday, I got a call that same day for an interview that I went to on Wednesday.  I think the interview went great and the company sounds very promising.  They said they will be making a decision by the end of next week.

Plus side is that it seems that jobs are starting to pick up here in NJ. Hoping that means that something fitting for me comes my way.

My motto to get me through this week...

It's Wedding Bells Time!!!!

I am so excited for this weekend because my good friend, Justyna, who I call "friend" is getting married!!!!!!

I have met her at my very first real job, and we have kept in touch since.  Her wedding is going to be on Sunday and I am so excited for her because she is beyond happy.  Her guy, Martin, is amazing and you can see the love oozing out of them when they are together. They compliment each other so well.

I am so happy to see how blessed they are.

Trust me, Monday you will  be getting tons of pictures of the beautiful bride and handsome groom and of course pictures of yours truly... because it's my blog and I can.

Besides that, we have a low key weekend thanks to a rainy weather forecast for today and tomorrow.  But we will still enjoy it with our friends and family.

Now, I am off to help sis move some stuff into her new apartment which is closer to me so clearly I am ecstatic!

Have an awesome weekend my loves!

That Will Not Brush Your Teeth

First, because many of you have asked.... check out the new do!

oh hey!

I am loving it. I think it's perfect for the summer.  Remind me that I posted that last sentence because give me a month and I sure as hell won't be happy about the upkeep for this hair color is going to be.

Anyways... Here's another beauty of a pic for you.

what the what?

Um... ewww. This is what we found at a bathroom in a movie theater. People pay for that.  If I saw this as a club I probably wouldn't have paid any mind to it because when you're at a club the possibility of hooking up is about 80% and I am sure it will help kick out the alcohol breath.  But in a movie theater?  Now I know people have date nights when they go see a movie but still. It just didn't make sense.  And how is it that this can't be compared to gum, but you chew it like gum?  For that, I will buy myself some gum.

You can't call that a tooth brush if you aren't scrubbing anything.  There's still GOOP on your teeth that NEEDS to be scrubbed off..... this is not doing that.

I still can't get over this!
What crazy stuff have you found in bathrooms that are up for sale besides the tampons/pads and condoms?

Time for a Change

Happy day my friends!

Today I am going to the salon to finally get my hair done.

Pretty sure I don't look so great with dark roots almost half way down my head with faded color on bottom half and eyebrows that may or may not be talking to you with jazz fingers.

I am just hoping that I resist the urge to chop off most of my hair. And I have yet an idea of what color I should try next.

Hubs is also probably terrified of what he will find when he comes home since I have a track record of completely shocking him, both for good and bad.  Like that one time I chopped my hair from being down to my butt to short bob and going from dark brown to blonde. Needless to say he wasn't too happy.

So, I will let you make some guesses as to how I will look like when I leave that salon today.  Winner gets a cupcake.

When Those Bad Days Hit Ya Hard

Why hello there my friends. I sure have missed you all.
This weekend was packed with such fun times with friends and family.

First, my bestie is home from Chicago which means that I got to meet my nephew for the very first time!
Meet Nathan!

Just getting in some reading while at the baby shower

How adorable is he!  They are here for a couple of weeks and I am going to soak up every moment I have with him... even when he is screaming bloody murder for some boob milk.

On Saturday night we got to hang out with the bride-to-be bestie and her hubs-to-be.  We ate at a great Thai place and then topped it off with some homemade ice cream from a place near them. I had s'mores ice cream and it was HEAVEN.

Sunday we had a baby shower aka meet the baby for Nathan.  Such a great time.

So overall, we had a fantastic weekend... but for a moment on Saturday night I completely freaked out.  We were in bed ready to go to sleep and I turned into a blubbering mess. I cried and freaked out about my job situation.  I am at a point where it's getting to be very hard to deal with on a day to day basis.  I know I shouldn't complain, which I am not.  I like to call it venting.  Your words of encouragement and support have been so awesome and thank you.  I just had a bad night and it was a shame that it was after such a great day.  But as I keep reminding myself...

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.

And to end this post on a good note.. check out my hubs and pups...

Here am I

Here am I...

  • Home from an interview today that the job sounded like it would be a perfect fit, except for salary. You know when you get that feeling that as soon as you walk into a place you tell yourself, oh I can see myself here.  Well that was the case with this interview, but what I failed to realize was that it was an entry level position which is not where I am at.  But I enjoyed talking with the person about the position and company. Guess you never know... maybe something down the lines will come along and he will remember me.
  • Making some lunch before I head to the gym.
  • Still with the same number of followers and not much hate mail after my last post about fur mamas celebrating Mother's Day.  Y'all are awesome and thanks for the support.
  • Looking at my dog Sadie laying out on the couch as if she had a long hard day.  I think she is getting used to me being unemployed so she can lounge on the couch all day.
  • Trying to be a wife, fur mama, sister, daughter and friend and lately I have not been balancing those areas so well.  Time to re-focus.
  • Just aching to start working in the marketing field to let my creative juices flow!!!
  • With watery eyes, and stuffy nose thanks to allergies that seem to be kicking everyone's butt lately.
  • happy being ME.
Happy thirsty Thursday my friends.  Get your drink in.

Who are You to Tell Me that I Can't Celebrate Mother's Day as a Fur Mom

So, I have been MIA from twitter this weekend simply because I was enjoying my time with family and friends.

Then last night as I am unwinding down and decide to check twitter, I see that someone posted this..
You know how you know you're not a real Mom? You think Mother's Day includes "fur moms."
Um, excuse me? Who the hell are you to dictate what constitutes a mother?  And first of all, just be happy that Hallmark created this dam holiday for moms.  In my eyes, it is Mother's Day and Father's Day every day.

So I sent out some tweets in response to it and got really frustrated because some people can't have kids, and their pets are their kids.  Did you think about that sweetie when you posted?  How about you thank God for giving you the opportunity to have kids unlike some other families who simply can't.

Oh, and to further prove that fur moms kind of do the same thing as "real" moms, here's a list of things that I find to be exactly what both types of mom have to do...

  • You go to the doctor, I go to the vet.
  • You have health insurance for your child, I have pet medical insurance.
  • You have to give medications to your child when they are sick, I also have to give medicine to my dog when she is sick.
  • Your child needs to get vaccinations, My dog has to get vaccinations.
  • You have to rush to the ER with your child when something is gravely wrong, I have to rush to the pet hospital.
  • You have to clean throw up, or pee, or poop when child is sicks, I have to clean throw up, pee and poop on a regular basis.
  • You have to potty train, I have to potty train.
  • You have to feed your child, I have to feed my dog.
  • You have to cook for your child, I also cook healthy treats and food for my dog.
  • You have to make sure your child brushes their teeth, I also have to brush my dogs teeth.
  • You buy clothes for your child, I buy my dog shirts and sweaters since she can't handle cold weather very well.
  • You have to get your child's haircut, I have to get my dog groomed.
  • You go to the park with your child, I take my dog to the dog park.
  • You give your child a bath, I give my dog a  bath.
  • You give snuggles when your child is sick and try to make them feel better, I snuggle with my dog when she is sick.
  • You celebrate birthdays, I celebrate birthdays.
  • You buy toys, I buy toys
  • You discipline and teach respect to your child, I discipline and teach respect to my dog.
  • You go on play dates, I go on doggy play dates.
  • You bring your child to school, I bring my dog to training school.
  • You give your child hugs and kisses, I give my dog hugs and kisses.
  • You LOVE your child, I LOVE my dog.
So, tell me.... do you believe there is much difference?  I don't. Now, I am not saying it's 100% match, but I sure do consider my dog PART OF MY FAMILY and I am her mama. I am the one who nourishes her.

I do what YOU do.

So, next time you want to spout out something ridiculous and rude like that, think about the "fur mom" who can only BE A FUR MOM.  Think about how you just hurt her feelings.

I refuse to mention the twitter handle of the person who wrote the above, but go ahead and do your research on my twitter if you feel the need to know. But, let's remember to keep harsh words out of the way and let's not stoop to her level.  We are better than that.

To all my moms, moms-to-be and fur moms, hope your day yesterday was wonderful.

And as Ellen would say,

What YOU Think of Fat People, Yes I am Talking to You!

I really didn't want to have to write this post because I know I am probably going to be "talked" about... but I have a real strong feeling that this needs to be said so that maybe someone out there might think differently next time.

As some of you may have figured out, I have FINALLY gotten my fat ass together and started working out and trying to eat better so I can become HEALTHY.  Please note that I did not write skinny.

I don't want to be skinny.  I want to be healthy.  There is a HUGE difference.

Today at the gym, I saw the same girl that I have been seeing for the last 3 weeks at the gym in the Zumba class.  Now if anyone else looked at her, they would say she is fat.  If they saw her outside of the gym, they would automatically think that she doesn't work out and judge her for being fat.  I am purposely not using the word "overweight" because let's face it, more people use the word fat.  But what those people who are standing there and judging DON'T KNOW is that the girl who is currently maybe about 250 pounds has LOST 100lbs SO FAR.  Now she deserves an award for losing almost 100lbs!!!!  But you see, if you weren't at the gym and heard her talking about her journey, you wouldn't have known that.  We as society judge so quickly with the notion of fat people.  We will gladly talk to our friends about that fat person, even if it's a friend or stranger!

So, I am here to say

"Shut up and stop judging fat people ESPECIALLY if you don't even know them.  Who are YOU to judge?  God? No, you are most certainly not.  So how about you spend some time not judging but encouraging."

I know, that there is a strong and maybe mean statement but it had to be said.

Why people can be so mean and ignorant is beyond me, but lately all over blog/twitter/instagram/facebook land I have seen people judge others for their weight, but yet they have no idea who that person.  So, how about we stop trying to make ourselves better by calling someone else fat and let's start being motivators for a healthy lifestyle.

Oh the effin pain!!!!!!

So, today I came home from gym.  I had my towel draped over my shoulder.  I was fumbling with my bags while I was getting my sneakers off in our hallway.  When I bend over I feel a sharp pain in the back of my arm.  I get up and take towel off and see a yellow jacket clinging on to it.  I RUN inside and close the door so the bee doesn't get in the house.  Hubs must have thought I was being chased because I immediately drop all my  bags and yell at him...

Hubs: "Yeah, something stung you."

At this point, the PAIN FROM HELL sets in.  Now this is my first time getting stung by a bee so I am also freaking out the What If I am Allergic?!?!?!?!  Hubs looks up the info and starts asking me if I am breaking out in hives, can I breathe OK, am I dizzy, etc....  At the point, I was able to say yes I can breathe OK, no hives and I think I am just dizzy from the EFFIN PAIN FROM HELL WHY ON EARTH DOES THIS HURT SO MUCH I JUST WANT TO CRY.

Seriously, worst pain ever.

So, we washed the wound and realized there was no stinger.  The type of bee was a yellow jacket that stung me. I took Motrin right away and slapped an ice pack on the sting so fast so I can go numb quickly.

Here we are about 45 minutes after the incident and it is my pleasure to tell you that I am alive and well.  No running to the ER for an epi shot.  No major swelling besides in the area of the sting.

This shit still hurts so I am going to go for another round of ice pack for 20 minutes.

So, this post is a big F U to yellow jackets... who AFTER THE HUBS TOOK A SHOE TO IT AND SMASHED IT, it was STILL ALIVE and flew away when hubs put it out the window.

WTF is up with yellow jackets and the not dying after being smooshed by a freaking sneaker??!?!?!

Also, I think I won't be leaving my apt for the rest of the day today in case that yellow jacket is just WAITING for me to come out.
