But, I say that being married to Mr. Newlywed Giggle is FREAKING FABULOUS BECAUSE WE LOVE EACH OTHER. Remember, that is what is important. All of the above bullet points will happen in a marriage. It's suppose to, don't freak out. But, the LOVE is what makes it all the better. Because I love my Mr. Newlywed Giggles and I know he loves me (even though he likes to do mean things to me like fart in my face, steal the covers, take over the bed when I go to pee in the middle of the night; throw socks and gym shorts at me, etc.).Ha! But seriously, it's the silly things in our marriage that keeps it entertaining!
Now, to further prove that Mr. Newlywed Giggles is
forced chooses to love me so much is that yesterday I was driving his new car of two weeks in NY ( I hate driving in NY, but I wanted to be super independent and show the hubs that I am not afraid). Of course, there's tons of traffic and this stupid gentlemen (who was nice after the fact) taps the back of his car.
Me in my head: HOLY SHIT, THIS DID NOT JUST HAPPEN... GOD WHY OH GOD!!!! NOT IN THE NEW CAR!
::oh yeah, forgot to mention that I was talking to the hubs on the phone the moment this happened (via Bluetooth handsfree). THAT didn't help the situation::
Me: You have got to be kidding me!!!!!!! ::screaming and about to burst in tears because stress level was high to begin with::
Me: Some asshole just hit me! (this statement probably sounded 500 times worse that the real incident since the guy behind me tapped me. But the hubs most likely did not get the same impression)
Hubs: Oh my god, my car. oh my god.
Me: Hold on. :: I get out of the car in the middle of the cross bronx in the left lane!::
I checked the car and thank god the lord jesus who I was praying too, the car was fine. So I get back in the car and continue to talk to the hubs who is probably wishing he never let me take the car and probably wants to strangle me.
Me: Your car is fine. He just tapped me.
Hubs: Oh my god, Are you sure. You aren't even at your destination yet! I'm getting off the phone.
Me: Don't be mad!!!! It wasn't my fault. If you're mad I'll be more freaked out!!!!!
Hubs: Just get there.
Phone convo done. Me, completely freaked, shocked in the car about to lose it in the middle of traffic on the cross bronx. Hubs was most likely home with his heads in hands. I am TOTALLY freaked out.
Turns out the car was fine. Two scuff marks that my friend was able to use some super duper magic cream that wiped them away.
I called the hubs when I finally (after an hour and half of traffic!) got to my destination.
Me: I just wanted to let you know I'm two minutes away. I love you. ::my tone is desperation mixed with guilt and frustration and sadness::
Hubs: I love you more.
Key word, more. I love him. THAT made me feel better. We checked the car again in the morning since last night it was dark, and it's fine. (THANK GOODNESS!) And the hubs greeted me with a smile when I walked in the door last night and THAT completely calmed my nerves.
So, when shit happens in life. It is what it is but what's important is that you are able to wake up the next morning and continue living life!
To Mr. Newlywed Giggles, thanks for not completely going bonkers on me about your car and I love you very much and you're the world's MOST AWESOME HUBS EVER. And it's true because I said it.
Have a great labor day weekend bloggy friends!
