Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Newlywed Giggles

My 100th post! Amazing how fast this 100th post came! So, to celebrate I share with you a little bit about Mr. and Mrs. Newlywed Giggles.

We have been together for 5 1/2 years. Mr. Newlywed Giggle caught my attention because he was always funny (and cute of course). Fast forward a couple of years and Mr. Newlywed Giggles proposes to me on November 3, 2007. Our wedding took place on November 16, 2008 and we had an absolute blast! I danced ALL night and ate my food, also some of Mr. Newlywed Giggle's food, and even ate my cake too!

Below are some of the questions some of my readers asked me.
How did we meet?
Mr. and I met while working at Kohl's during our college years. I worked in the jewelry department and he worked in the Loss Prevention department. We actually had to keep our dating a secret because associates were not suppose to date loss prevention associates for some stupid reason. But we dated anyway. You know, because we are risk takers like that! (for those people who know me, you know this statement is SO NOT true about ME.)

Was it love at first sight?
We were chatting up like friends before so I think love at first sight wasn't really on our minds. But after a couple of dates and hanging out with each other. Some part of me knew that he was going to be stuck with me for a long time. ;)

What was the most romantic thing he ever did for you?
He proposed! Well, of course a proposal is romantic but the though process behind it was the MOST ROMANTIC ever! I love dolphins and he knows that. So for our proposal, he took me to an underwater viewing area for the dolphins tank at Sea World in Florida. He got down on one knee and proposed to me while having some one take pictures. The best part? In the background of our proposal pictures, there are dolphins swimming around AND he bought be a stuffed dolphin before which I was holding.

When are you going to have a baby?
Ahhhh... the question that everyone asks! Well, Mr. Newlywed Giggles and I say that we will wait about 2-3 years to have babies. We want to take full advantage of loving each other and nurturing our marriage so we can be best prepared for a family. We are taking advantage of traveling and making sure we are settled.

Below is a picture reel of us from beginning to now. Enjoy!
Soon after college graduation

As you can see here, I'm 5' 0" and he's 5' 11". (yes, that big ole cup was a pina colada with lots of ALCOHOL!)

Having fun with friends for my birthday.

When he proposed to me while we were in the underwater viewing of dolphins in Florida.

I love the dolphins in the background!

Enjoying ourselves at a banquet months before the wedding.

Our wedding day. It was a bit cold (40 degrees) but we made the best of it.

I love this picture because it cracks me up! My six foot veil was "attacking" him. lol

Dancing the night away!

Of course I have to make sure all my guests giggle at our cake topper!

Formal night on our honeymoon cruise!

Enjoying St. Thomas!

Spending a weekend in Vermont with close friends. Also our first time snowmobiling.

Happily ever after.

Lucky Charms - whole grain cereal=MARSHMALLOWS!

I like Lucky Charms cereal... but ONLY for the marshmallows!

Yep, I'm the one who picks them out and eats all the marshmallows! I actually wish I can just buy the marshmallows so I can snack on them at my desk at work and be a happy camper.

This brings me to Mr. Newlywed Giggles. He actually buys cereal for himself and usually leaves me to buy cereal for myself. Hilarious, I know. When we go to the food store he picks out his cereal and I pick out mine.

Mr. Newlywed Giggles cereal list consists of: Frosted Flakes, Honey Bunches of Oat, Honey Combs, Froot Loops

Mrs. Newlywed Giggles cereal list consists of: Frosted Flakes, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Fruity Pebbles.

We are matured married people aren't we? Come on, you know you like some of these cereals too... spill it... I promise I won't tell anyone. ;)

I figured out HTML coding...after 1 1/2 hours

As you can see, I have a new look for my blog! This is very exciting to me. But of course, nothing goes off without a hitch.

So, I found this great looking template and attempted to apply it to my blogger by myself.

First worry, when it says go to "Edit HTML". I freaked. I have no idea what to do in HTML. It scares the shit out of me. But it simply said delete your code and add the new one. Easy enough right? WRONG.

I delete the old code, put the new one in and then see that I lose all my gadgets. AARRGGGHHH. So, I had to fool around with it for about an hour and half to finally get it to the way I feel comfortable with.

So for those who might have visited during my "construction" time, I apologize for the page looking all crazy weird.

Hope you like the new layout... it's just in time for my upcoming 100th post!!!!!!

I'm here!

So, I have been missing in action this weekend. It was good though because on Saturday we went to the lake with our close friends aka extended family! Grilled up hot dogs and burgers, ate chips, went for dips in the lake, got some reading done, took about 5 naps throughout the day and best of all, enjoyed myself all day!

So, I'm trying to catch up on all of the blogs but I hope you all had a great weekend!

A mean Care Bear?

So, I was at my mom's house and saw this sticker on her table.

The Care Bear on the right looks to me like the Care Bears I remember, but the one on the left does not! Now, these are stickers that are probably for my niece to play with, but it caught me off guard when I glanced it.

Seriously, when do they think it's "cute" to have a Care Bear with an attitude? pissed off? angry? constipated?

You tell me.

Annoying Habit Wednesday no more?

Well, again today is Annoying Habit Wednesday day... but, Mr. Newlywed Giggle and I have no annoying habits to share. Well, I'm sure there are some more annoying habits but for these last two weeks we just haven't had a "good" one to share. So, for now, I will post an annoying habit when we have one instead of weekly.

Sad, I know, but trust me, I have many other stories to make you giggle with!

Breakfast of champions

What does a married 25 year old Product Manager eat for breakfast before she runs out the door to catch her train at 7:30 AM?

Domino's pizza

TWO slices

You should have seen the look on Mr. Newlywed Giggle's face when he "caught" me in the kitchen. He's usually still in bed when I leave for work so I was surprised when I turned around to see him in the doorway of the kitchen. At least after his face of "what the heck is she eating" came a cute smile!

The joys of breakfast...

I bought a toilet flapper, TWICE!

This Sunday, I called Mr. Newlywed Giggle to find out if he wanted me to bring anything else to his softball game. This is the phone call in which he starts to explain to me that our toilet thingy broke that attaches to the pump in the tank.

Mr. Newlywed Giggle: "I need you to go to Home Depot and buy the piece that attaches to the pump with the chain for the toilet because ours broke this morning."

Mrs. Newlywed Giggle: "The what?"

Mr. Newlywed Giggle: "There is a part in the tank that has a chain which attaches to a piece of plastic. It is what is used to plug up the water. It broke so go to Home Depot and buy one so I can put it in when I get home. You understand the part I'm explaining to you?"

Mrs. Newlywed Giggle: "Yeah yeah, I got it. I'll stop home and take a look at it though to be sure."

So, I stop home and tell my sister I will be right back, just want to go in and physically see what he's talking about. I go and inspect and take a look and off I go to Home Depot with my sister to buy the thingy for the toilet. When we arrive at Home Depot, I realize there are two sizes of the toilet thingy. Now, I look at them and am SURE that it's the bigger one. My sister is looking at me and saying, are you sure? Yes I am sure, it was big like this one. When I get home, my sister comes into the bathroom to look at it. NOPE, I was WRONG! I bought the wrong size. I had to go back to Home Depot to buy the smaller one.

And this is why women should NOT go to the plumbing aisle in Home Depot because we have no idea what the hell we are looking for!

And the toilet thingy is called a flapper!

When I saw Mr. Newlywed Giggle at the softball game, first thing I told him:

Mrs. Newlywed Giggle: "Don't ever send me to Home Depot by myself because I don't belong there. Love you"

The joys of being a woman walking aimlessly at Home Depot...

WASH your hands please

This is a service announcement:

To: the dirty person who just used the ladies room:

Turning on the faucet for two seconds and "swiping" your hands underneath the water is not considered washing your hands after you have used the bathroom. It's called using soap and letting the water run as you rub your soapy hands and soak under the running water.

From: the person who washes her hand AND also takes a clump of hand sanitizer to use after she has opened the door to leave the restroom.

The disgusts of working with dirty people...

90 days till I can get a tan at St. Thomas

I can't wait till 90 days come. That means I will be on my cruise. Vacation can't come any sooner. Both Mr. Newlywed Giggles and I LOVE cruises ever since we went on our first one. This will be cruise number 3 for us and we are super excited as friends will also be joining.

90 days.... that's all, 90 days..... The countdown begins.

The joys of vacation time coming in 90 days...

Newlywed Giggles is now on Twitter!!! Click HERE and check it out!

A new Sonic has opened up!

For years I have seen tons of Sonic commercials on TV. One problem though, there was never a Sonic within a reasonable distance to our area. Now, there have been two that opened in our area within a half hour to 40 minute drive. The closest one to us has been open I would say about a month, but we haven't had a chance to go because it's been so packed! The other day, Mr. Newlywed Giggle and I had off on Monday and we were out during the day. We passed the Sonic and decided to see if we can have a chance to try it out. We got DENIED when we entered the driveway from the cops (yes, cops are permanently standing there to direct traffic). They didn't want the line spilling out onto the highway so we got turned away.

Last night, we saw Harry Potter and got out of the movies around 1:30AM. We thought we would have a good chance of being able to finally try it out. NOPE, we were wrong! The TWO lines that form into one were almost at the highway's entrance. Unbelievable how packed it was even at that time in the morning.

Someday we might get the chance to try it out... someday.

Have you ever tried Sonic? Is it really good? I think we all have been teased for so long with their commercials that we are in a frenzy!

My good deed

Today, I was on the way home with my sister and my niece and nephew. As we were getting close to home, we noticed the car in front of me swerving from side to side. First thought that goes through my head? The driver is drunk or something is seriously wrong. I called the local authorities and was on the phone with them giving them some details of the car and following it. Within minutes they had a police car dispatched which we saw speed by us and we went our way home after hanging up with the local authorities. I had to turn around to drop my sister off (we passed her street in order to follow the guy to give the police a pinpoint location) and when we did, we saw that there were two police cars that pulled the car over. I hope that if the driver was drunk at 2 in the afternoon, that the police did their job and that my phone call might have saved a life.

This just made me realize how important it is for people to do what I did today because you never know. This was my first time that I had to call the police for "aggressive driving" and I'm glad that I did. I just hope the person thinks twice before getting in their vehicle drunk next time.

The joys of doing a good deed...

Annoying habit postponed!

I did not forget about Annoying Habit Wednesday yesterday, but Mr. Newlywed Giggle's needs some more time, and quite frankly, it's been a long past month and half for us so we are just pooped and can't really think anymore. We have been trying to take advantage of just being relaxed and lazy... so stay tuned to next week. I promise there will be an annoying habit.

"I always wanted to work as a make-up artist for the dead"

Yep, you read the title right. That was the topic of conversation between two ladies today. I was standing on the platform waiting for my train and was attempting to ready my book, but these two ladies were so loud they made it hard to read. So, I stopped reading and figured I hear what they have to talk about since they were super duper loud.

It started talking about funeral costs and the ridiculous charges this woman saw on her bill from her mother's funeral and how it made her laugh seeing charges such as $150 for hair. This is when the second lady interrupted her story and said with a serious tone, "I always wanted to work as a make-up artist for the dead. It would be a great job. Nobody to bother you. I should maybe look into that, and hey, if they are charging $150 for hair, imagine the money I can make with make-up."

The joys of commuting to NYC...

Day off+sushi+mini golf=Good day

Today, both Mr. Newlywed Giggle and I had off. We decided to venture outside for a while. Our first stop was of Best Buy. Mr. Newlywed Giggle is a huge fan of this store and he stopped in to pick up something. From there we decided to eat at a buffet place, but long and behold as we pulled in, we noticed that the buffet place had closed! So, we turned around continued on our way. I made no comment about where to eat, I was just kind of in my own little world in the car. Mr. Newlywed Giggle took a u-turn from the highway and I then realized where we were going to "attempt" to get some grub. Recently, a Sonic has opened up near our town and I have never been there and it's been the biggest event our area has had! So bad that Sonic has had to turn people away from eating there of how packed it was. We were one of those unfortunate souls. So, then we were off to find something else. Mr. Newlywed Giggle remembered of a new Sushi Hibachi buffet place named Mikado. This place was really nice when we walked in and we literally were their first customers for dinner as they opened up for dinner at 5 and we were there at 5:10. I must say the place was great, service was great, food was VERY good. Being that it was our first time there, we were offered an Aloha cocktail for FREE! They brought over a whole pitcher for us. But do you want to know the best part? As we walked out, they had a bowl filled with M&M's. That made me very happy! I highly recommend this place if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed.

After we ate some dinner we realized we missed the movie so then decided to go mini golfing. Hubby beat me both times we played. But I have to say that I didn't do horrible. Only a couple of points away from him. All in all, it was a nice relaxing day.

The joys of having a day off from work...

pimp your veggies

Since I was addicted to theknot.com while planning my wedding, the day after my wedding, theknot.com conveniently switched me over the thenest.com. Which means I now receive their magazine. And the picture above was one of the titles in the magazine. pimp your veggies. This most definitely caught my attention! I started laughing and thought it was a great way to describe making veggies more appealing. Some of the suggestion were to "pimp" them out with some olive oil, cheese, roasting them, etc. So, I will now start to pimp my veggies. I wonder how much money I can make off of them.... maybe then I'll start to pimp my meats.

Do you pimp your veggies?

The joys of learning how to cook...

my head, oh my head

So, last night we went to party with the birthday girl.

Today, my neck and head hurt so bad.... and it's not even from having too many drinks. I think I slept wrong but it actually sucks because the pain won't go away! oohhhhhhh

For this, I should have drank a lot to have a hangover. or maybe not.

Annoying Habit Wednesday!

Did you think I would forget today's annoying habit? Well, guess what???????? I didn't!

OK, so this week it's my turn and here it is for your enjoyment!

When Mr. Newlywed Giggles takes full advantage for the minute I get out of the bed to use the bathroom or get a glass of water in the middle of the night to magically have his body positioned in the center of the bed with his arms laid out. As if I wasn't coming back to bed.

It makes me giggle because I can understand him stretching out when it's early on a Saturday morning and sometimes I'm out of the bed before he is, but this happens sometimes in the middle of the night! And I swear to you he doesn't even know he's doing it because he's out cold in dream land! I started to run to the bathroom, pee really fast, then run back trying to see if it's a timing issue, sometimes it is, and sometimes it's not. You should see me trying to get back into bed while lifting his arm that is sprawled out on my pillow and trying to sneak his arm around me so I can snuggle against him.... that's when he wakes up (half asleep) gives me that look that says "what the heck is going on" and turns around. Hey, at least I get my half back, but by the time this all happens.... I am fully awake and takes me another 10 minutes to fall back to sleep. :)

So stay tuned next week for Mr. Newlywed Giggle's turn!

The joys of sharing a bed...

This girly girl went to a demolition derby and loved it!

While we were in Vermont for the holiday weekend, we went to the town of Rutland to see the annual demolition derby! Pardon the picture quality but it was taken with my handy dandy blackberry!

I am not sure why the crashing and slamming of cars into each other is so exciting to me, but it is! I get extra excited when I heard the loud crunching of metal when one car goes full speed ahead to it's enemy!
Now, for the most interesting car of the derby? See the picture below. Pay attention to where Fred's hand is and what is pointing to the sky....

Might not be too clear, but his hand is stroking a "stick." HILARIOUS , to us of course, and maybe you are giggling right now too. You have to admit that it's pretty funny that this car was being smashed around and all you can really look at in shock is the ornament this guy decided to put on his car. He got all of our attention!

The joys of a demolition derby...

What a weekend!

Wow, I have been off the radar this whole weekend from blogger because I was away with no Internet access! The reason we didn't have Internet access is because we spent the weekend at my best friend's vacation house in Vermont!

We had so much fun. We ate at my favorite restaurant called Sugar and Spice. Their food is AMAZING! Maple syrup is fresh along with those great pancakes....mmmmm goood.

I have much to catch up of our weekend so this week will be a re-cap of the weekend.

Stay tuned to hear about the Demolition Derby!

Annoying Habit Wednesday

Today is Mr. Newlywed Giggle's turn for this week's annoying habit.

When Mrs. Newlywed Giggles talks and talks and talks and talks (also known as rambling) and does not get to the point for awhile.

I will agree with Mr. Newlywed Giggle on this one. Shocking, I know! But it is true. I have noticed myself going on and on and Mr. Newlywed Giggle pretending to be listening, but he really isn't. What gives it away that he's not listening is when I have to ask him the same question 3 times!

So, there you have today's annoying habit. Please share some of yours too if you like!
Until next week when it is Mrs. Newlywed Giggles turn!

The joys of talking, and talking and talking....

PS. How do you guys like the new banner? Been trying out some different ones. We'll see which one sticks!
