Because it's Hump Day

After my last post I started to really think about what I wanted to do, and I think I am going to keep things as is.  You were all so great in giving me advice so thank you for that.  Bur for the moment, I am going to ride this out until it becomes clear what I would maybe need to do in the future.

Besides that, my weekend was great.  One of my co-workers invited us to her place on Saturday for a party she was having.  At first, I thought it may be weird since her friends were going to be there and the hubs was coming as well and it's always a bit nerve wracking when meeting new people for the first time, but by the end of the night we had such a great time with them and her friends were pretty awesome as well.

Sunday we went to our friends sons football game, then came home and headed to a Red Bull soccer game. Let me tell you, the soccer game was the last of the season and we already knew we were going into the playoffs.  Well, this game ended with a bang.  Score was 5-1 and they won the Supporter's Shield.  Fireworks after the game completed the night.  It was so much fun!

On Monday, Sadie had a vet appointment to get her annual comprehensive checkup.  This her face after she learned that she needed to get blood work done AND get 3 vaccine booster shots.  She was not happy with me.... barely looked at me the whole time we were there.

 photo sadievet_zps6cef4edb.jpg

And here we are now on Wednesday.  I totally thought today was Thursday for a good half hour this morning until I turned on the news.  Such a smack in the face that was.

I have been listening to Ave Maria over and over and over and over again preparing for my bestie's wedding where I will be singing this.  I am so nervous because I don't want to mess up on her big day.  So this week and next is spent prepping my voice to sing again, since I haven't sung in a while, and just getting excited that her big day is coming up so soon!

Let's pray that when I pick up my bridesmaid dress on Friday that the tailor didn't hem it too short, because that would be awkward.

Peace my bloggy peeps and go hump someone... it is Hump Day after all.

When Blogging and Real Life Friends Clash

I feel like I'm at a crossroads.
My blog readers have become such important people in my life.  Some of you have become great friends.  Why? Because y'all are so supportive and get it.

We all blog for certain reasons.  Explaining to non-bloggers why I blog is difficult.  They just don't get it,understandably so.  When I first started this blog, I was anonymous.  Then I started to share the blog posts here and there on my Facebook.  Then I re-branded and changed my blog signature to my real name.  By this time, my blog was already being fed automatically to Facebook and Twitter.  As expected, I heard all of my friends opinions on my blog, both positive and negative.  I knew this would come up, but sometimes you think you are prepared but really are not.  I took a long break from my blog because I let other people's opinions become mine.  Then I snapped out of it and came back and missed every second of it.

And here we are, almost five years later and I have come to a point where I think I may take my blog off of my personal Facebook.  Because there are some things I want to talk about, but a part of me doesn't want my IRL (in real life) friends to know.  Not because it's a big hush hush secret, but more because I am not ready to hear their opinions on my life.  Let's face it, our IRL friends are a lot more judgemental than blog friends.  I am not saying it's a bad thing, it's just that us bloggers are more acclimated to not being judgemental and more understanding with people having their own way.  We read it everyday in our fave blogs.

To my friends who are reading this, this isn't me dismissing your opinion.  Just sometimes because you are so close to my life and know the ins and outs of it, you tend to project your opinion on how I need to do things. Not everything I do has to be your way.  And you don't understand blogging, so it's hard for you to realize why I share so much to "strangers".  But it doesn't mean you need to put down the idea of blogging just because it's not something for you.

So here I am, contemplating on what to do.  Do I cut ties with my personal Facebook and start writing what I want to share because let me tell you, some of the stuff is hilarious.  I wouldn't dare try to keep a giggle from you.

Yes I know that my friends can look up this blog, but a strong part of me tells me that won't happen.  It's easy now because it's a click away from Facebook.  But will they actually type in their address bar www.lifewithgiggles.com?  No, most likely not.

I never once thought that my blog would cause a clash with IRL friends, but recently it has.  Because of this, I have held back, worried about what my friends are going to say or think.  Yeah, I know I shouldn't care what they think, but when it's your IRL friends.... it's a whole other beast to handle than when another blogger tries to crash your party with negative comments.  I've learned to deal with those type of bloggers.  But I am still learning how to deal with those IRL friends.

Decisions to make.  It should be easy right?  Ugh, someone pass me some wine.

Pumpkin Hard Apple Cider with a side of Superpooch!

It's no secret that I like to watch football and am a NY Giants fan.

But as most of you know, even if you don't watch football, the Giants have had such a horrible start to the season that it made me very sad, anxiuous, and angry.  It's hard when you're a fan to see your team struggle.

But yesterday that all changed. They actually won a game.  I was beside myself.  I didn't think I was actually awake, more dreaming.  But I pinched myself and there it was, 23-7, Giants win.

Thank goodness because I wasn't sure I could handle another loss.
But I did prepare myself with drinking this GOODNESS in a big ass bottle:

 photo pumpkincider_zpsbd787f78.jpg

That right there is heaven in a bottle.  HEAVEN. It is so freaking good that I drank the whole thing by myself, minus a little bit that the hubs had.

And because I can, let's just enjoy this picture of Sadie as superpooch.

We are such awesome fur parents.

That Friend Who Thinks They Are Better Than You

I have talked about this subject once before when I wrote probably one of the blog posts that I am most proud of.  I am proud of it because I wrote it even though I knew that some people would have strong opinions on it.

But again, here I am reminding people that we are all equal.  There is not one person who is better than the other.  YOU are not better than me, and vice versa.  If you are walking around thinking like you are, then I feel bad for you.

With social media these days, it's easy to hide behind the computer.  It's easy to write things that are plain out rude and mean because you can always come back and say, "Oh I didn't mean it that way... that wasn't my tone."  But in reality, you know exactly how it can come off as, but still wrote it.  Shame on you.  Nothing pisses me off more than seeing comments on other friends post/tweet/instagram that makes fun of them for their weight.  How dare YOU judge someone else. I don't care if it's an acquaintance or a close friend, you will be surprised on what you DON'T know about that person's struggle.  But to post something that comes off as mean is completely a douche thing to do.  Yes, DOUCHE. Especially when the last time I checked, you are not gracing the covers of Vogue magazine or GQ magazine. And by adding "hahaha", "just kidding", "lol", "bawahahaha" doesn't make it OK.

Posting comments such as these are hurtful, especially when that person's social network can view that as well.  I am pretty sure you wouldn't like it if people posted to your social networks making fun of your weight for all of your friends to see.

How about we try to be nice.  It's that simple.
Just. Be. Nice.

Why this has to be said is beyond me.  Apparently common sense is no longer valid when people feel like they can run their mouth.  Just because you're behind a computer doesn't mean people don't know who you are.  Strangers to you who now know how douchey of a person you are.  How sad is that?  Your first impression has degraded you simply from a comment you put up.

Degraded.  Let that sink in.
Think about that the next time you want to  post something that comes off as rude and mean.

This is something that we all need to practice. Hell, I am not here saying I am effin perfect because I am far from it, but I will never allow myself become a BULLY to make myself feel better.  That's not me.

And remember, if you allow yourself to be the bully... it then becomes fair game for some people.

If you can dish it out, make sure you're prepared to take it because there are some people who will not give a shit and do the same crap to you.  I think it's wrong to do that, but let's face it, not everyone likes being the better person.

As Ellen says, Be Kind To One Another.

Breaking and Entering, Pumpkin Pies, Pina Coladas and Shenanigans All In One Weekend

Long title huh?
I know, but I had to somehow squeeze all that in there so you can understand how random this weekend was.

Let's start off with Saturday night going out to celebrate our friends birthday.  Sis-in-crime and I were together which means we took about a gazillion pictures that look like this:

 photo meandalexasurprisedface_zpsfddc79a0.jpg

Needless to say we had a great time Saturday night.  But Sunday is when shit got real.  I decided to make my first pumpkin pie of the season from scratch, besides the dough.  You may have seen the tweets and instagrams of the process.  Sis-in-crime DEFINETLY saw them and hauled ass over to my place so she can get a piece of goodness.

 photo pumpkinpie_zps7f9aaca1.jpg

Since she was coming over, she decided to bring over some rum.  Pumpkin pie for rum.... #winning.
So I decided to start making some pina coladas...

 photo pinacoladasunday_zps521e5021.jpg

We then decided to deem it #pinacoladasunday.  We created a new hash tag and are dam proud of it.  This may be a weekly occurence so feel free to join in on the fun.

Then we knew that our friend had ice cream cake from his birthday Saturday.  We also knew that he went away on Sunday to Mexico on a business trip.  Hence where this bitstrip started....

 photo bitstrip_zpsf20891e4.jpg

Side note: Have you all installed the app called "Bitstrips"???? If not, I will wait for you to go download it now.  Trust me, you won't be disappointed.  It is hilarious and we had such fun with it which it is now addicitng.  Hey, at least I warned you.

Anywho, the best part of this stealing ice cream cake is that I have my friends spare key to his apt, since he lives in the same apt building as us.  #WINNING.  We grabbed the keys and dog and went running to "break" into his apt and take pictures INSIDE his apt to then post on FB later and tag him in the photos.  Because that's what friends do.  Evidence:

 photo mecakekeys_zpsd4e82414.jpg

Even Sadie was part of the stealing.

 photo sadecakes_zpsa63fe4fe.jpg

That cake sure did hit the spot Sunday night.

Oh, and to top it off this morning I was sitting down eating my waffles before leaving for work watching the news.  All of a sudden I see this come up:

 photo alexafamous_zps50d4d2e1.jpg

THAT'S RIGHT PEOPLE, THAT IS SIS-IN-CRIME!!!  A few weeks back she told me about a segment she recorded but I totally forgot about it.  I see her on TV and am like "holy shit that's sis-in-crime!!!!"  I immediately text her and tell her she is on TV and she had no clue.  The news station never called her to tell her when the segment was going to air.  Luckily I was watching the news and was able to tell her!!!!

My sis-in-crime is famous.  Try to one up that!

It's the Weird Things

We all do some things are weird.  I was sitting here in my office thinking that I have a ton of weird things I do. Let's see....

  • I hate mayo spread on a sandwich, but I love tuna fish with mayo in it.
  • I never watched Sesame Street when I was a kid
  • I was never a girl scout
  • I don't eat sushi
  • I go to WWE events
  • I listen to opera music
  • I also listen to rap and hip hop music
  • I LOVE drinking flat soda.
  • I can't sleep with socks on, no matter what season it is
  • I don''t laugh or giggle, sounds more like a cackle
  • I can't drink a glass of milk... gross.
  • I don't like pumpkin spice lattes
  • I don't like eggplant
  • I have never gone camping
I'm sure there are more things.  What are some of the weird things you do?

I Finally Had A Fat Sandwich

Guys... it happened.
A couple of weekends ago I finally was able to have a fat sandwich.  For those who don't live in Jersey, there is this phenomeon called the fat sandwiches which are housed in food trucks that reside down in Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

Well, we were in the area and we hunted down a truck.
I present to you my fat sandwich:

Get in my belly

That baby is jam packed with french fries, mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers smothered with marinara sauce.

It was super yum.

Excuse my face as I stuff a giant sandwich in my mouth (that's what she said)

They have so many different combinations it's ridic.  But thank you to RU Hungry food truck, I can say I had a fat sandwich.

Then of course since sissy and I were together, WE MUST take selfies and have some fun in the car ride home while hubby patiently deals with us for 45 minutes.  He loves it. He loves us. He's stuck with us. Ha!

Non-Football Fans - Why we want to punch then in the face

As we enter the Fall season most of us start to love all things fall such as apple pies, pumpkins, leaves changing and football.  Well, football for me at least. I understand that not everyone is a football fan.  I was that girl once too.  I despised football and hated that it took over our house for a couple of months.  But then one day, I actually took the time to sit and learn with my husband, and now I am a NY Giant's fan.  I love football, and to this day I still learn more and more.  It's an invigorating sport and fun to watch.  It also gives me super anxiety especially being a Giants fan now as they are sucking balls pretty much.  Ha!  But through wins and losses, I am a Giants fan.

BUT there are some things that really tick me off for those NON-FOOTBALL FANS.  :::GASP:::  I know, there are some out there.  But let's talk about what they do and say that really tick us football fans off:

They complain on social media about their disgust of football MULTIPLE times
There is that one person who says, "I am going to sign off of my social media until football season is over because my feed is annoying."  So, go ahead and sign off.  We don't care. BUT WAIT, the next day they are on social media complaining about all the football statuses.  Didn't you say were going to stay off?  THEN STAY OFF.

The "My significant other doesn't watch football because he is spending time with his family on Sunday"
Eff you. That's what I have to say.  Just because we watch football with our significant others doesn't mean we aren't having quality time together.  Bonding over a sport or whatever your hobby is spending quality time. Stop trying to make other people feel as if they are ignoring family/friends by saying something like that.  Every person's definition of quality time is different.  Go check yourself.

The person who says they watch football but take no interest in learning the sport
There has to be at least one person you know like this.  They "watch" football but really don't.  Take the time to learn the sport and trust me, you will like it even more IF it's your cup of tea.  Don't feel like you need to watch football to be just like everyone else.  Stop pretending. Be yourself. You either like it or don't.

The person who bashes on people's team
This applies only to non-football people.  You will always find a couple of people on your social media channels that you KNOW FOR A FACT don't watch football and despise it but all of a sudden they post something like "oh where are all those fans now, so quiet huh because your team lost today."  SHUT UP.  If we know for a fact that you don't even care for football, then STOP TRYING TO BE COOL JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO ACT LIKE A DOUCHE.  Get off the bandwagon.  Go back to doing whatever you do and leave the trash talking to true football fans.  We're better at it than you.

I know lots of my blogger friends are football fans, so let's discuss any other things that those darn non-football fans do that drive you insane.
