May you Rest In Peace Tony

Yesterday, we lost someone who we love very much.  He was like a dad to me as my best friends who I have known since I was seven are my sisters.  He battled a long fight with cancer.
He is at peace now. My heart breaks. There is so much that we can say he will miss, but what we need to remind ourselves is that he isn't missing anything, just simply looking from up above.  He will always be my sisters side.  As one finishes college, and the other has her first baby.  He will always be there as we sit around the dinner table and talk. He will always be there as we take out the dog for a walk.  He will always be there no matter where we are.

It's not goodbye, it's see you later.

May you rest in peace Tony.  I am grateful that God has taken the pain and suffering away from you.  You can now live life to the fullest while showering us with your love from up above.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (NIV)
I simply ask my bloggy peeps for prayers of comfort.  It is never easy to lose a loved one.  I know we will come out together as the family unit we are in the end stronger than before.  These next two days are going to be hard.  Thank you for being awesome bloggy friends.  Half of you have already reached out to me and that means the world to me. Amazing the relationships that I have gained.  The power of prayer will always be on our side.

Thank you.

This Jersey gal went to a Rodeo!

Happy Monday y'all!

Let me tell you how much fun I had at the rodeo we went to on Saturday.
We drove an hour and half to Shawnee Ski mountain where the rodeo was being hosted. I was so happy to go especially since they had a chili cook-off.  Free samples of chili - yes please!
So, we get there and go on line for the chili cook-off.  I think there were ten stations. Those sample cups were small, but they wreaked havoc on my stomach later on. But, totally worth it.  And the chili I voted for WON!  Woop Woop.

Then it was time for the rodeo.  Y'all, I was so excited. I was jumping up and down like a little kid and seriously asked the hubs about 10 times if he was excited.  Seriously.

AND, I got to wear my cowboy hat.  #WINNING

My day in pictures:

Yeehaw!

Finally tried this for the first time.  I have seen a lot of bloggy peeps talk about this.  GOODNESS in a can. Seriously, totally worth it. It was so yum.  Especially since it was hot as balls outside.

Savian, my nephew, Karina my sis, and Kayla my niece. How freaking adorable. Love them so much.

Savian my nephew who is the cutest little boy ever.

Wearing my cowboy hat that I bought in Texas this past year.

The hubs. Isn't he the cutest.  I'm one lucky gal.

Raff and I.  Besties 4 ever.  Love this girl so damn much. She really keeps me grounded and slaps me across the face when I need it.  Gotta love my friends.  I also asked her about 20 times how excited she was to be there.

They had mango iccee.  Perfect to have right after all the chili I ate!!!

We had a blast.  It was hot as balls out though and I had capri pants and was wearing ALL BLACK. Fail.  But, we ate good food, tried out award winning chili, and go to see cowboys do their thing.

Perfect day spent with my loves.
What did you all do this weekend?

Well hello Mr. Detective, my name is Mrs. Newlywed Giggles

My town had their annual "Just A Party" last night.  Guess they want to thank their residents for paying MORE in taxes and all that good stuff.

I enjoy going every year.  It's just a fun night out to eat some good food during the weekday.  And it is within walking distance from our apt.

We have this detective that dresses up as Batman to promote no crime and be a role model for kids. It's actually pretty neat.  He has batmobile and all people.  BUT, this year, his batmobile AND costume has been upgraded from cute old friendly look to BADASS mother effer.  Yeah... I said it.
So here's proof:

I promise you that I'm not that white. I look like a freaking ghost.  But hey aren't you jealous that I have my arm around hot detective Batman...yeah you are... BE JEALOUS.

HELLO BATMAN.... want to handcuff me?
Yeah.. I just wrote that. You were thinking it.  Come on, he is a detective so he probably wears suits all the time AND he gets to wear batman outfit?  YES PLEASE.

My hubs is probably shaking his head at me right now. Sorry babe, XOXO.

ANYWAYS, are you done drooling? Yeah, good. So, I also got to have some good food, ice cream AND cotton candy.

I look like I am five years old... but it's OK. Better to look younger than older right?

#WINNING
And the plus of living in a town where almost everyone is Italian is that there were about three carts selling these:

All in all, it was nice to go to the party, change up our weekday routine. And what made the night even better was that the Giants won.  WOOP WOOP

So, this morning my dog made me just fall in love with her all over again.  Seriously, how cute is she here:

And I was also bored on my conference call today at work and decided to take pictures. Lucky you I am going to share them with you.  I know, you are SO welcome.

HAPPY FRIDAY BLOGGY PEEPS... go out there and tell someone they are beautiful and awesome.

So What!!!?!!?!!?!!

So What Wednesday

Did the title scream at you? Good.

I am saying So What today to....
  • if wearing these new 4 inch heels hurts like a bitch on the toe I had surgery on. Doc said I would be able to wear heels again, so I am going to MAKE this toe bend the way it NEEDS to so it can conform to my new hot boots.
  • if I haven't done laundry since we came back from vacation. ooops.  Sorry hubs.
  • if I haven't posted the pics from our family reunion AND vacation. I swear I will do this this weekend.
  • if I had an iced coffee every day for 4 consecutive days.  Don't judge. I am addicted.  In my defense, I didn't buy one today.
  • if I really really want to hire a cleaning person to come in and do an overhaul on my apt.
  • if I say things that some people don't like and assume I am talking about them. Just remember, when you assume, you just make an ass out of yourself, and NOT me.
  • if I spent about 2 hours just installing my new layout, not like I had to create the HTML either. Imagine if I did a design myself? oh lordy, it would be weeks!
  • if I am in a snarky mood today. It's OK to have good and bad days.
  • if I talk with a southern accent sometimes and have no  idea where it comes from.  Go ahead and make fun of me REAL LIFE FRIENDS, it's a part of me so it stays.
  • if I am super duper excited to wear my cowboy hat I bought in Texas for a rodeo and chili cook off we are going to this Saturday and that I plan on wearing pig tails and hopefully find myself a flannel shirt.
  • if I blog.  I love it. The end.
What are you all saying So What to today?

Breaking Dawn new trailer!

I swear to you I saw this trailer about a gazillion times already.

I. AM. SO. FREAKING. EXCITED.

You have no idea. I read the books and got sucked in. Saw the movies and got sucked in.
I will be sad when it's over.  But this last movie is going to totally kick ass.
Team Edward
Which team are you?  And if you say you are Team notjacoboredwardbutsomeotherrandomcharacter.... I will punch you in the face.

Also, this comes out on our 4 year wedding anniversary.  How easy it is for the hubs.  Date night at the movies. WINNING.

Some changes

Oh get a load!  Mrs. Newlywed Giggles got fancy and changed her blog look.

What do you think?

Also, I usually pull my hair out when doing these changes, but this time took me only about 2 hours and minimal hair pulling.

Agree to disagree

So, here it goes. What has been going on in my life in bullet points.
  • I realized that I didn't post much last week.  I was so busy catching up on everything from when I was gone on vacation.
  • I have been addicted to Pinterest (find me at newlywedgiggles) yet again.  It goes in spurts for me.  But, I really have failed in making our apt cute and all that jazz... so I have been looking for everything and anything DIY for cheap to make our place feel awesome.
  • I am deathly afraid of trying out some of these Pinterest projects.  What if it doesn't work. Then the hubs is going to look at me and shake his head. I don't want that. Ugh. I wish I was real crafty.
  • The Giants won last night!  Woop Woop. Love that football is on.
  • I need ideas for space saving in an apt... anyone of you bloggers can help me out with that? Please!
  • I have so much laundry waiting for me at home today. Laundry will be the death of me. I hate dragging everything downstairs to the laundry room. Praying no one else in our apt building is doing laundry today so I can get it done.
  • Is getting real annoyed with my job. I wish managers did their job and put their foot down. Instead, everyone is complaining and barely putting effort into their job, meanwhile, us upstairs are working our butts off. Womp
How was that for a quick bullet list? Now, onto to something they were talking on Z100 radio show this morning. Gender Reveal parties.  I just recently to went one, and it was awesome. So much fun and the anticipation was killing all of us.  I enjoyed it.  Plus, I got to find out I am going to be an aunt to another little girl who will be here soon!!!  Any who, on the radio they were complaining about all these parties that people have, gender reveal being one of them.  They were saying that couples are just doing it to get gifts.  Now, I don't think this is so true as long as.... wait for it.... they have either a gender reveal party or baby shower.
If you have a gender reveal party, I don't think you should have baby shower because to me it is the same thing. OR, if you do have both, then I think on the Gender Reveal Party invite you shouldn't put down if you are registered somewhere because then you are implying that you wants gift as well.  Same goes for engagements parties.  I don't get the idea of the engagement party only when you put down where you are registered.  That's what a bridal shower is for. I don't think it's fair to ask people you love to spend money at an engagement party, bridal shower bachelorette/bachelor party and the wedding.  Now, if you have an engagement party where you say no gifts are required, just want to share the love and joyous occasion with friends and family, then I would be OK with that.
And get this... the zinger... a caller called in saying him and his girlfriend were invited to a party for a toddler who used the potty for the first time.  WHAT?!?!!?  Fuck that. That is RIDICULOUS.  He was expected to bring a gift too. So he said he brought toilet paper. HA!

What do you guys think?

My opinions

I stumbled across this link up that lalalists does on her blog. Um, freaking awesome. Because let's face it, we can never let someone who has their own opinion not hear our mouth. Sad but true.  I try to keep my mouth shut, but that doesn't happen all the time. But at least I try to keep it at bay, unlike some other people who just have no sense to KEEP their mouth shut.

I digress.

My opinions.
  • Politics should NEVER be discussed with friends, business partners, at work, in the shower, public places, etc.
  • Politics just shouldn't be discussed at all. People get way too serious and hurt by it.
  • I have no idea what is going on in politics.  Seriously, I don't care because I believe it's all shit that comes out of their mouth.
  • I love making BBQ chicken smothered with BBQ sauce, then I add more sauce to the white rice. So, it's a pool of BBQ sauce. yum.
  • I think a person who has played music in their life at least for a year has a better life because of it. Music is powerful bloggy peeps.
  • 99% of the stuff that is called "fashion" and "this season's trends" are absolutely UGLY.
  • If you follow fashion trends and wear what is in, then you have no fashion at all.. you're just a follower and wear what people say looks good, but in reality, you like shit in it.
  • Wearing pjs to work should be perfectly acceptable. At least you have clothes on.
  • Every person should have a dog in their life. Amazing creatures and they literally take the stress out of life when they see you, and jump up to cuddle with you.
  • I firmly believe that if you label yourself as a "stay at home mom", then you are expected to cook, clean, and take care of the kids.  All together. Not just taking care of the kids. That to me, is unacceptable.
  • Water with lemon should be an automatic at all restaurants.
  • Football isn't only for guys.  Gals, like me, enjoy it too.  Go Giants!
  • When raising kids, it should always be 50/50.  Even with stay at home mom/dads... just because it's their job during the day, doesn't mean they should still do everything when you come home from work.
  • Just because someone doesn't have kids, doesn't mean they don't know how to raise them. I'm sorry, but I think about how our kids will be raised... I don't need to be pregnant to all of a sudden say "hey, I should start thinking about that now".
  • I have learned you should never EVER discipline someone else's kids.  Apparently, you don't know what you are doing. So, let the spoil kid act like a brat and relish in them talking back to their parent and bossing them around. It's not your kids, so you might as well be entertained.
  • People should have their licenses taken away if you
    • don't use your signal light
    • drive too slow on the highway
    • stop for no reason while going 35mph
  • Nap time at work should be mandatory.  I am pretty sure people would be more productive after a good ole nap.
  • I think you should do stuff you don't like to bond with your husband and vice versa.  I tried it with football, and I thought I hated it... but now I love it.  I bonded with my hubs so much and we talk about it all the time. He has taught me a lot and still does to this day about football.  Just think, if I never made that effort, that would be hours of us not talking. Seriously. Try it!
  • I need to learn to agree to disagree
  • There is nothing wrong with watching rerun after rerun of Friends episodes. Nothing.
  • I am perfectly fine with my southern twang that I got from nowhere. Go ahead and make fun of the jersey girl who talks sometimes with a southern twist. I have no idea where it came from, but in my eyes, it makes me unique. It makes me ME!
I hope I didn't offend any of you, but you can go ahead and yell at me in comments.  It's OK. It's your opinion, as these are mine.
But, let's be civil about it.  Who doesn't love a healthy debate.  It's good for us.

Make sure you link up as well!

I hate you Newark Airport

So, I am back from vacation.

BUT... of course coming back from vacation has a story attached to it.

We left Anaheim, CA at 7am
Two hour flight to Denver, CO was had at 10:40am
Arrive in Denver to find out our 3:40pm flight is delayed to 6:40pm
Finally leave Denver around 6:40pm.
Three hour flight to Newark
Land in Newark at midnight.
Waited ANOTHER half hour on the plane because there was another plane at our gate.
Stepped into my house by 2am.

So, all this delay happened because Newark Airport decided to shut down one of their runways.  So they only had ONE runway opened.  Now, Newark is super duper busy international airport. That's why we were delayed.

Throw in the three time zones I was in yesterday.

Yeah... a whole day of travelling.

I am at work this morning.  I even got dressed in work attire.  I made it to work early.

Jet lagged and all... I am still awake and being somewhat productive.

GO ME.

Can someone pass me some coffee?

Oh, and got locked out my cell phone today.  Grrrrr.  Needless to say phone decided to RIP today.  Getting a new one sent to me tomorrow.

ugh.

Happy Monday Tuesday bloggy peeps.

Totally forgot it's Tuesday.

Hola from Anaheim

I am alive my Bloggy friends. As you know, I am on vacation which sadly ends tomorrow. Womp. But we have been having a good time out here in California. The weather has been superb and our conference for MonaVie was fantastic.  We just got out of church service and will be heading to an Angels game. Now, I am a football girl,  I know nothing about baseball.  But we were able to score cheap tickets to an Angels game today so we are going to try something new! And why not go to the awesome stadium. Hello!  I am excited as this will be the first EVER baseball game I attend. I know, shame on me for living in Jersey with easy access to both the Yankees and Mets.... but again, we aren't baseball people. What to know what I am more excited about? Our seats are in complete shade! Its hot over her today! So, this should be fun.

Also, our rental car is bumblebee. If you don't know what car bumblebee is, then I must re-evaluate our friendship. Shame on you.  Drop top too baby!

Can't wait to share pics and stories from our trip.  So, have a blessed day my Bloggy peeps and go Angels!

Hello Vacation!!!

Hola my bloggy peeps!

I just want to let you know that Southwest Airlines rules! Why you ask? Because I am currently writing this from the plane! They offer a wifi spot for five bucks all day. Yes please! Since we are flying to California from the east coast, this makes it totally worth the five bucks. I whipped out my credit card so fast! So thank goodness for iPad that has a fantastic battery life, I will be thoroughly entertained throughout this flight.

So let me give you some info about our flight.
We are traveling at 480mph and at the current moment flying over Arkansas.  If any of y'all are from there, I am waving hi to you. We have about another two and half hours to go till we get to Arizona. Then we change planes there to our final destination Orange County California. BUT, our time in between flights is four hours long. Yes you read that right. Ugh. I am hoping to find some good lunch and comfy chairs. We have been up since 3am! Exhausted isn't even the word I can use to describe how tired I am. But it means that our vacation has started so I am a happy camper.

I will be light on posting this week. I am not dead, just enjoying me some good weather.

But please don't forget how awesome I am. I am going to play catch up on all of your blogs since I haven't read any since Saturday!

Have a good week my bloggy friends!
