Labor day = Tree cutting and Garlic festival

Wow, we had a great labor day weekend!  The hubs and I went to PA to my best friend's house for the weekend.  When we all arrived there, we found this:

Yeah, that's a tree right in the middle of his circle driveway.  We are just grateful to God that it didn't land on his house!  So, the boys being boys grab this
and get started with the tree cutting!

And when we (I say we, because I did help with the tree cutting) were all done, we made a nice border with the cut up tree alongside his driveway.

After the tree cutting, we all showered and RELAXED for the rest of the day.  My other best friend came up so we ate, drank, and laughed.

Sunday, we went to the Garlic Festival held in Shawnee Mt, PA.  I was SUPER DUPER EXCITED to go.  I thought it was so much fun and something different.  I also LOVE garlic too.  Yippee!  We had a blast.  They had EVERYTHING garlic and when I say everything, I mean everything as in garlic ice cream, garlic sno cones, garlic hot sauce, etc.   It was crazy!  They also had garlic vinegar shots:
One of the signs says "Eat, Drink, and Stink" and the other one says "More Potent than Viagra".  No kidding. Also check out my best friend Raff in the lower right hand corner.  Hilarious!

I did not have a garlic vinegar shot.  I am pretty sure it wouldn't taste good.  I am no fool!

BUT, my favorite part is that there was a vendor selling garlic sea salt.  AMAZING!!!!!!  They are from the local farm Knob View Farm.  They were allowing us to sample their sea salts and I had one pinch and was in love.  It's so good.  They have different blends and all of them were fantastic.  So hubs and I bought three containers of the sea salt along with a grinder.  I can't wait to go home and cook with these babies:

They are super duper yummy and you can probably order some from them.  They are fantastic.  I grabbed their The Original and Herbes de Knob container.

Hope your holiday weekend was filled with some garlicky fun, if not garlicky, then at least some fun!

YUM! Every year there's a huge garlic festival in Gilroy, CA that we attend and it's always a blast - and you can never eat too many garlic spiked foods while you're there: garlic ice cream, garlic wine, garlic shrimp scampi! Delish!
