Oops...NY city saw my underwear!

This past Tuesday, it was VERY windy in the NYC area. But, it was beautiful out and that means perfect time to wear a skirt to work. My morning walk from the train to work was perfect. I had no "mishaps" happen. At 4 o'clock, it seemed like the wind picked up a bit more than it was in the morning. I left work and started my walk to the train station. Halfway through my walk I found myself holding onto my skirt because it started to "flutter" A LOT and I was getting nervous. The minute I let go to adjust my bag strap on my shoulder, a 75 mph wind (OK, maybe not 75 mph but it sure did feel like it!) comes through and up goes my skirt! New Yorkers got a good glimpse of my booty. Now you ask, What do you do in this situation? You just keep walking in horror. What else was I suppose to do? It's not like I can yell at the wind, "Bad wind, bad." So, if you are a new yorker and remember a girl whose black skirt went up like Marilyn Monroe's and had a cute pattern underwear on, yep, that's me. Nice to meet you.

Spiderman, Winnie the Pooh and Ironman unite

This weekend it was beautiful! So, we got together with our close friends and decided to spend the day out in the park.
First, we met at the Walmart to do some kite shopping! I was excited to fly my own kite as I have never done this as a child (weird, I know).
So, my husband chose the Ironman kite:

I chose the Spiderman kite ( there were no other options for girls :( There was a cool Transformers kite which I would have picked, but the package was open. ):

My best friend and his wife got a Winnie the Pooh kite and Elmo kite (for the two babies!):

After buying these items at Walmart, we drove to the park by their house and went kite flying! It was a bit difficult as the wind came and went, but we got some good kite flying in. And what is great is that we had a blast! It was a perfect day to enjoy and I must say, we even attracted some spectators. Of course my kite took a couple of nose dives into the ground, but I got a hang of it and had my Spiderman kite up in the air looking fierce!

How did you all enjoy the weekend?

Hang on tight, or your face is going to slam into my fist

Good morning everyone, I know, I've been MIA this whole weekend! But, we got blessed with great weather so I spent most of it outside enjoying the great weather. I'll catch up on my weekend in a different post because I want to share this first.
Today, on the train this morning, I squeezed myself in the train (rush hour the train is packed to the max). So, there are obviously limited amount of seats, and most of the time I stand and hold onto the pole for some stability, as everyone else does. Now, there are "rules" and "guidelines" you should follow when you ride the PATH train. Let's go over them.
Rule #1
Don't take up two seats by sitting in the middle to avoid people sitting next to you. What will happen is that a person will see the availability and just push you and/or squeeze in making it uncomfortable for you.
Rule #2
If you see a pregnant woman or an elderly person, you should do the RIGHT thing and give up your seat.
Rule #3
Do not stand in the middle directly in front of the doorway when there is room for you to move forward. Doing this allows other passengers to pile in and maximize the space in the car.
Rule #4
The poles are meant for sharing for multiple people to hold on since we all know riding the PATH train can become like a roller coaster.

OK, so my story is wit rule #4. Today, as I was boarding the train, I noticed a perfect space where I could move to to make it easier for people to enter the car (rule #3, check!). I turn around to hold onto the pole which literally can be of use to about 10 hands. Now, there is a woman who is literally holding on with BOTH of her hands (big no no, you can hold with one hand, it won't kill you). But, this isn't the part that upsets me. Because as I mentioned before, the pole is suitable for 10 hands at the max. Well, this woman is practically HUGGING the pole with her whole body and two hands holding onto it for dear life. Now, I try to put my hand thinking she will unglue her body from the pole, but nope, she doesn't. Instead my hand is against her stomach. Now, I give her the look to MOVE her body so other people can hold on, but nothing. So, I have no option but to hold onto the pole at the top (reminding you that I am only five feet tall so this becomes a bit uncomfortable) and now my hand and knuckles are literally an inch away from her face. Now, why is it an inch from her face you may ask? I'll tell you. Because as more people piled in, the way she was situated against the pole, she had no wiggle room. So, I'm like fine, I'll put my hand all the way up here by your face because you are too stupid to be courteous. Now, again the PATH train is a bumpy ride. Well, here comes a turn and what happens to her face? Yep, you guessed. Her face SLAMS right into my fist. That's what you get stupid lady. In your face!

I wish I had a camera because her facial expression was priceless.
Happy Wednesday morning.

Accidental e-mail at work?

How am I known at my job? I think I'm known as the person who will try their damn best to get whatever needs to be done done. I try to make every one's life easier.

Well, here we talk about an individual. I receive an e-mail concerning an attempt to get something accomplished by another department. Now the individual contacted the other department which is usually my job, so I am thinking that her request was probably shut down because the person didn't care. So, I write back saying let me communicate and work my magic to get this done. Now, I know what needs to be done is important in our eyes, the other department doesn't understand that, but it's my job to express it. So, I write back an e-mail proposing a solution which includes communicating with the same person that shut them down at first to see what I can do and that I will HANDLE it from here, so they can sit back and relax. What do I get in return? This is what I get: an e-mail in return that clearly was NOT suppose to be sent to me, b*tching about ME! Stating that what's the problem with me not understanding.....

Ummm hello... I am making your life easier by doing it all by myself and taking it off your hands!!! So annoying..

AND, this person talks with a European accent, but they are not even from Europe, have ever lived in Europe.. they are from California... can we say FAKE!

The joys of working with people who have big ego's and the fakest personalities ever....

Reflection

Something to ponder about:

“The unreal is more powerful than the real, because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. stone crumbles. wood rots. people, well, they die. but things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on.”

The flask at the wedding ceremony

So, the Mr. and I had a dear friend volunteer to video tape the ceremony for us since we decided not to hire a videographer. We have finally received the video this past week and I was super excited to see it since as the bride, I don't get to see any of the beginning of the processional etc. So my husband and I are sitting there watching it and my husband jumps up from his seat and exclaims "What!?!?!"... he then proceeds to rewind the DVD and says, look at the best man when we're walking in to the front. When the guys are walking up to the front of the church, they are walking alongside the pews where our guests are sitting. In the video, you see this shiny light come from the best man's inner pocket as they are walking. Yep, you guessed it. The best man HANDED OVER his flask to one of our friends who was sitting in the pew so gracefully as he was walking up. It indeed was hilarious because we didn't know about the "hand off" till now! And the person who took it from him was laughing so hard his face was turning beat red!

The joys of a wedding ceremony and the greatest best man ever....

I'm back

I have been MIA for awhile due to illness. It's not pleasant to be in bed for two days straight when you are suffering from allergies and a sinus infection. :( But, I am feeling a bit better now and am ready to continue with the stories that makes my life wonderful!

Mr. Exterminator Man

So, I am on the 8 o'clock train and sit next to a gentlemen who smells like he spent a whole day in a house that was just exterminated! The fumes were so bad that I thought I was going to pass out. Some theories:
#1. He grabbed the bug spray instead of his cologne this morning
#2. He just likes smelling like bug spray
#2. Bugs are so attracted to him that his only option to live a decent life is to pour bug spray all over him so the bugs keep their distance.

As soon as we made a stop and people got off the train, I left him and his aroma to search for another seat because I don't want my co-workers to think that I smell like bug spray.

The lights of Heaven shine down at the movies

So, tonight we went to see the Fast and Furious movie. The theater was jam packed! The Mr. and I had two empty seats next to us and amazingly nobody saw it so we though we got lucky, but 10 minutes into the movie, a guy asks us if the seats are taken and we say no so he sits down with his girlfriend. He is sitting next to me and about 5 minutes after he sits down, I thought Heaven was shining down on us! This annoying person spent more time on his stupid cell phone throughout the whole 2 hour movie than watching it. PLUS, his screen was the brightest cell screen I have ever seen in my life, this is fact. I tried glancing over to see what he was doing and he was texting, but at one point, I look over again and the guy is literally just scrolling through his applications, not opening them, scrolling through them as if to remind himself which applications he has for his phone. For a minute, I imagined myself snatching the phone out of his hand and hurling it towards the movie screen. I would have done this only if the #1, the theater wasn't packed to the very front row seats and #2, I wanted to really see the movie so if I would have broken the screen, I would be very angry at myself.

The joys of going to see a movie the first day it comes out when it is SUPER popular....

Adding to worse morning ever...

To top it off, when I got home to make dinner, burned my finger taking the pan out of the oven. It was stinging for hours after!

The worse morning ever!

Here is my morning:
Woke up at 7:30, not 6am like usual. I am assuming I hit the off button instead of the snooze button so now I'm late to work and since I work in NYC, this means I am very late as trains run half hour to hour apart throughout the day. I decided to take the train from a different station as my usually one because it's suppose to be almost the same distance as the one I go to now but $20 cheaper for the monthly. I look at the time and see that I can make the 9:07 train. I make coffee, run around the house to get dressed, go online to get directions to get the station because i don't know exactly where it is but it seems easy enough. I get lost going to the train station, driving around I finally find the parking lot and start walking to the platform, I see the train pass by. I miss it.

So, now I have to wait till 9:34 which will get to me work by 10:30, I am usually at work at 8:20. So, get to Hoboken and take the Path then I walk to work.

I drop my stuff off at my desk and go to heat up my coffee again, pour it into microwavable cup, heat it up, pour back into my mug. As I am pouring I see that my coffee has a LOT of coffee grounds in it, which makes me think in my manic this morning, did I put the filter in the coffee or did I just simply pour the coffee in without one? I'll find out when I get home.

So, I go back to my desk and return a message. As I am talking on the phone, I spill the HOT coffee all over me. At this point, I just don't know what else to do with myself.

Also, throughout all this, I don't feel good. My back feels as if it has broken in half!

The joys of this Wednesday morning.
